Minimally Invasive Therapy and Day Surgery Unit
MIT/DSU
Our Minimally Invasive Therapy and Day Surgery Unit
(MIT/DSU) is an efficient, independent service, supported by
the renowned units and services of The London Clinic. The
unit has a unique layout centred on making patients feel at ease
while their visit is handled as smoothly and quickly as possible by
a team of specialist nurses and consultants.
Description
We provide high-quality care for patients in admissions,
theatre, recovery and second-stage recovery. We cater for both day
surgery and inpatients. We also provide outpatient clinics,
including gastrointestinal and lithotripsy.
A range of advanced surgical procedures with the least
physical trauma, shortest treatment time and (especially with
keyhole surgery) reduced recovery time, MIT/DSU often handles in a
single day treatments that used to require patients to stay
overnight or longer.
We have two dedicated operating theatres equipped with the
state-of-the-art advanced laser and other technologies. A separate
room handles diagnostic procedures and minor surgical and laser
treatments.
Our recovery area is set up to handle multiple levels of
recovery, from the most acute cases through to the most minor.
The unit works closely with many specialties, services and
centres across the London Clinic, and we pride ourselves on the
quality of this seamless integration for patients.
We have highly trained admission, theatre, recovery and
anaesthetic staff who aim to provide a high-quality level of
care in all areas of the unit.
