The London Clinic Liver Centre

Liver cancer is the sixth most commonly diagnosed cancer and the third most common cause of death from cancer worldwide. As many as one in ten people have problems with the liver at some time in their life. In the UK alone there are more that 7500 deaths from liver disease each year and liver disease is dramatically on the increase in the UK - something healthcare professionals mostly blame on burgeoning lifestyles of excess.

Deaths from alcoholic liver disease have doubled in the last 10 years, with figures for the condition in young people increasing eight-fold due to binge drinking. Cirrhosis is killing more women than cervical cancer and more men than Parkinsons Disease.

Add to that a growing obesity problem and a predicted trebling of the disorder from viral hepatitis in the next 20 years and it is clear that this condition is becoming a major challenge.

These are just a few of the reasons why The London Clinic is a leader in delivering progressive medical and surgical care for patients with liver disease.
