Our experts
The London Clinic has earned a long-standing
international reputation which continues to attract many of the
capital’s most eminent specialists.
Many of the Clinic’s consultants are leaders in their field and
most hold NHS teaching posts throughout London. All of our
consultants appear on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist
Register. In order to gain practising privileges at The London
Clinic, they must also meet the standards set by the Care
Quality Commission, as well as satisfying our own stringent
criteria and undergoing a rigorous selection procedure, which is
carried out by the Clinic’s Medical Advisory Committee. The Clinic
also collaborates with the National Health Service (NHS) consultant
appraisal system.
For each clinical specialty at the hospital, we employ nurses
who have completed further post registration training. In addition,
the Clinic has a number of senior nurses who undertake Clinical
Nurse Specialist roles. These include gynaecology, hepatology,
Macmillan Cancer nursing and preoperative assessment. We also have
dedicated specialist research fellows, providing 24-hour additional
support to our consultants and nursing teams.
The Clinic has invested in a dedicated training and education
department which focuses on clinical, non-clinical and mandatory
staff training. This is supported by a robust and readily
accessible infrastructure of policies, procedures and protocols.
These ensure that all our services are delivered as efficiently and
effectively as possible in accordance with best practice guidelines
and Care Quality Commission standards.
