Cancer centre - Construction

Cancer centre construction 2 - drill

27,000 tons of earth were removed from the site.  This equates to 15,000 truckloads of dirt that have been recycled to build a golf course

Over 35 million measurements have been taken over a year by robotic equipment located within the London Underground’s Metropolitan Line tunnel adjacent to the site

The basement is as tall as 3½ double-decker buses stacked on top of one another

A tunnel has been created, linking the cancer centre to the main hospital, under Devonshire Place

The centre will have 3 bunkers for radiotherapy. Each bunker weighs over 1600 tonnes equivalent to more than

900 elephants

The crane stands at 42 metres/ 138 feet normally or 80 metres/ 198 feet at it's maximum
