Designed with patients in mind
Our vision for this new facility is to offer
an environment specifically designed with patients in mind.
We have worked with Ashen & Allen, one of the UK’s
leading medical architects to
achieve this.
The centre will use therapeutic colours, natural
light
and timber veneers to assist way-finding and
provide
a restful, relaxing environment. An
integrated arts programme for the centre is also being
commissioned. The rooms have daylight views to ensure patients
are
in touch with the outside world, even in the
basement areas through an atrium.
Consideration has been made to ensure high
levels
of infection control in the single rooms and
reception areas including all the metalwork coated with an
anti-bacterial finish; triple glazing where
blinds are in between the glass; and ledges and protrusions are
kept to a minimum. The water taps will also
have a
sensor flow so staff, patients and their
visitors will not have to touch them.
